How we work

Understanding where procurement sits is the starting point. Getting to the right answer requires a structured approach — and a willingness to ask the harder questions first.

How 5 Rights approaches every engagement

The starting point is always understanding, not prescription

Most procurement problems look similar on the surface. The friction, the misalignment, the sense that capability isn't delivering what the business needs — these are common patterns. But the causes are almost always specific to the organisation, its stage of growth, its leadership and its operating reality.

That is why 5 Rights does not arrive with a predetermined answer. Every engagement begins with structured diagnostic work — understanding where procurement currently sits, how it is performing within that context, and what the organisation actually needs from it.

The maturity assessment below is the first step in that process. It takes three minutes and gives you an immediate indication of which procurement maturity stage best describes how your organisation currently operates — and the risks that typically accompany it.

Start with the maturity assessment. It won't take long — and it will give us both a useful starting point for a conversation.

Maturity assessment

Is procurement holding your organisation back — or do you just not know yet?

This assessment identifies where your procurement broadly sits.

At the end you will receive:

→ Your provisional procurement maturity stage

→ The strategic risk that stage typically creates

→ A plain-English explanation of what that means for your organisation

Defining what excellence should look like for your organisation requires a deeper ADEPT diagnostic.

What happens next

Knowing your maturity stage is the start, not the answer

Two organisations at the same maturity stage can perform very differently. One may be well-aligned and delivering real value. Another may have hidden friction, unmanaged risk, or capability that no longer fits its size and ambition.

The maturity assessment tells you where procurement broadly sits. The ADEPT diagnostic goes deeper — examining how well procurement is performing within that stage, and defining what proportionate excellence should look like for your organisation specifically.
